Free Tax Assistance Available in Los Angeles / Orange County Through April 15

Need help with your taxes?   One of the best community tax organizations  is AARP Tax-Aide, America’s largest FREE, volunteer-run tax assistance and preparation service. AARP Tax-Aide is dedicated to assisting Senior Citizens, low and middle income taxpayers file their personal income tax returns for free. Over  34,000 volunteers, operating in nearly 7,000 AARP Tax-Aide sites nationwide now help over 2.5 million taxpayers annually to file federal, state and local returns at no charge.  AARP Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation help to people with low to moderate incomes from February 1 to April 15. In fact, AARP Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service in the United States — giving special attention to people over age 60. The free tax assistance program is offered at more than 7,000  locations nationwide so just click on their site and  input your zip code and you’ll find about nearby locations, hours of operation and if you need a reservation or can simply walk-in. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained to help with filing the 1040 Form and many of the basic schedules such as Schedules A and B. Electronic filing (e-filing) is offered at most sites.
